Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks his first championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since March of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent saved four early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
